    1) Salam Jebel,
Send me an email. I’ll forward you the instructions. Insya Allah (SWT). Trims :)

    2) Salam Gee!
Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf zahir & batin juga dari Jeehan. I hope you have had a wonderful & blessed Aidilfitri. Would love to hear more of your recent updates. Insya Allah (SWT).

    3) Salam Kaffah & Selamat Hari Raya,

Thank you for putting a smile on my face, but I’m far from deserving such praise, and I return the praise to Allah (SWT) & only Him.

(I hope you don’t mind me calling you Kaffah, instead of the above). As you will know why, in the following paragraphs. :)

Alhamdulillah, congratulations & my prayer for your safe journey.

We offer thanks unto Almighty Allah (SWT) for the gift of His mercy, and for the good health, capacity, openness and opportunities He has vouchsafed us, as we have the chance to inspire & consult together, seeking to magnify our faith in Allah (SWT) (kalimat Allah (SWT)) and live the dictates of the Islamic way of life (din al-Islam).

I sincerely hope that these deliberations will become one of the means (by no means, sole) by which all of us may come to mutual knowledge (ta’aruf), mutual understanding (tafahum), and so bring about mutual help (ta’awum) in living the word of Allah (SWT), inaccordance with His commandment,

“Help ye one another in righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another in sin and rancour: fear God: for God is strict in punishment” (Qur’an 5:2)

It is of great “Rahmat” (belas kasihan & kasih sayang), Allah (SWT) has bestowed upon the community of Muhammad (pbuh) that the door of ‘Taubah’ shall not be closed until his/her ‘nyawa berada di kerongkong’, or until the Day of Judgement is hailed.

There are many great lessons from the Al-Quran, that we often take for granted. Bukankah Al-Quran itu peringatan yang jelas bagi orang-orang yang berakal, dan berita gembira bagi orang-orang yg benar beriman kpd Allah (SWT) & hari kemudian? The story of how Adam & Eve slipped from heaven, of how his (a.s) repentance was accepted by Allah (SWT), is in itself a great ‘lesson’.

We have to admit, we are vulnerable to be clouded, misguided, blinded - by worldly pursuits, hawa nafsu, and most importantly, our greatest enemy, the syaithan-ir-rajim.

But, Allah (SWT)’s “Rahmat” is too evident that we must not stop persevere, in searching for the straight path.

We are all worshippers of Allah (SWT) since the time of ‘Azal’.

This is lengthy, but I am hopeful, if I may share some of my notes:
    >>
Allah (SWT) the Exalted has clearly and firmly stated that His only purpose, His soleaim, in creating djinns and men on this earth was in order that they might worship and obey Him.

“And they have been commanded no more than this: To worship God, offering Him sincere devotion, being true (in faith); to establish regular prayer; and to practise regular charity; and that is the Religion Right and Straight” (Qur’an 98:5)

“So set thou thy face steadily and truly to the Faith: (es-tablish) God’s handiwork according to the pattern on which He has made man-kind: no change (let there be) in the work (wrought) by God: that is the standard Religion: but most among mankind understand not ” (Qur’an 30:30).

The worship (ibadah) referred to in these verses has been established in law as the sole principal task of life.

Indeed, the very nature of man from the moment of birth is only to affirm His unity (tauhid) and exercise faith in Allah (SWT) the Exalted. As He said,

“When thy Lord drew forth from the Children of Adam – from their loins – their descendants, and made them testify concerning themselves, (saying): “Am I not your Lord (who cherishes and sustains you)?” – They said: “Yea! Wedo testify!” (This), lest ye should say on the Day of Judgment: “Of this [Allah (SWT)’s Oneness] we were never mindful” (Qur’an 7:172).

In this passage, Allah (SWT) explains that at the moment of their birth, men bear witness that God is Lord. In this way, we know that the essential nature of mankind is to affirm God’s Unity (muwahid), to be righteous and to submit [to His will].

In order to preserve man’s immortality and affirm his sacred nature both in this life and the world to come, Allah (SWT) delineated the essential task of man, to worship Him. The Sunnah, also teaches us that Allah (SWT) has appointed enemies unto mankind who tirelessly strive to test and tempt [him away from] his sacred nature and turn him in the direction of sin. These age-old adversaries are wicked spirits, who appear both in human form and as djinns.

    Allah (SWT) said,

“Likewise did We make for every Messenger an enemy, evil ones among men and jinns, inspiring each other with flowery discourses by way of deception. If thy Lord had so planned, they would not have done it: so leave them and their inventions alone” (Qur’an 6:112).

    And again,

“Thus have We made for every prophet an enemy among the sinners: but enough is thy Lord to guide and to help” (Qur’an 25:31).

In confronting these most dangerous foes, man must strive with the most sincere effort in order to preserve his natural belief in God’s unity. As part of His plan to help His servants preserve their tauhid nature and carry out ibadah, Allah (SWT) sent Messengers bearing clear and concise teachings to distinguish between what is true and what is false, to teach the proper forms of ibadah.

“For We assuredly sent amongst every People a messenger, (with the Command), “[Worship Allah (SWT) alone], and eschew Evil”: of the People were some whom Allah (SWT) guided, and some on whom error became inevitably (established). So travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who denied (the Truth) (Qur’an 16:36).

It is only by following the instructions of the Prophets – and in particular those of the final prophet, Muhammad (pbuh) – in their pure form, without the addition of other teachings, that mankind can achieve the central requirement of his life, the proper worship of Allah (SWT) the Exalted alone.

    As He stated:

“Verily, this is My way, leading straight: follow it: follow not (other) paths: they will scatter you about from His (great) path: thusdoth He command you, that ye be righteous” Qur’an 6:153).

One of the linguistic meanings of ibadah is “obedience”. Under the shari’ah, worship is “a term which includes anything, whether an utterance, an outer deed, or an inner act, which is pleasing to Allah (SWT) the Exalted, and meets with His favour”, to quote Ibn Taimiyah. Thus, according to this definition, worship encompasses all aspects of life. Every utterance and deed which pleases Allah (SWT) is a form of worship. And ‘pleasing to Allah (SWT)’ means all that is done in accordance with shari’ah – i.e., the Qur’an and the Sunnah.

Thus, each moment of life that contains an utterance or deed guided by the shari’ah is a form of ibadah, and this is what is meant by doing good works. If ibadah is performed in accordance with the true definition, as explained above, then each and every moment of this life is made profitable, and none is wasted. Each brings forth a reward.

Through practicing ibadah in line with this correct concept, men are continually and uninterruptedly rewarded. Allah (SWT) said:

“Then do we abase him (to be) the lowest of the low, - Except such as believe and do righteous deeds: For they shall have a reward unfailing” (Qur’an 95:5-6).

However, in order to achieve true ibadah, a complete (kaffah) implementation of shari’ah is necessary. It is not possible to fill every aspect of life with the values of ibadah if different aspects of ibadah are intentionally compartmentalised and separated out. For this reason Allah (SWT) the Exalted commands that the faithful enter Islam completely, in a kaffah way:

“O ye who believe! Enter into Islam whole-heartedly; and follow not the footsteps of the evil one; for he is to you an avowed enemy” (Qur’an 2:208).

A partial implementation of shari’ah does not allow complete ibadah. Allah (SWT), Himself has called this style of living the shari’ah equivalent to believing part of Scripture but considering other parts to be false. Practicing ibadah in this way leads to a debased life in this world and pitiful miseries in the hereafter. Allah (SWT) said:

“Then is it only a part of the Book that ye believe in, and do ye reject the rest? but what is the reward for those among you who behave like this but disgrace in this life? – and on the Day of Judgment they shall be consigned to the most grievous penalty. For Allah (SWT) is not unmindful of what ye do” (Qur’an 2:85).

    Wallahu’alam.
    Let us pray, together.

“Ya Allah (SWT), may Thou show us the straight way. The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray.”

    Ameen…

    My Dear Sis in Islam,

Thank you for your time and nicely worded thoughts. I have read every single lines and am still digesting every single meaning as they swirled and twirled in this muddled head of mine. I can only savour them slowly and hopefully (InsyaAllah) whatever good distilled from it will be permanent and enduring addition to my iman.

Thank you for calling me with better name. Kafra is a village in Palestine that has suffered “ethnic-cleansing” by the Israelis until what is left are only stones and bones. Kafra is also the name of one of the two places where in a Tradition that mention of a murderer wanting to repent but was send to either these two places - Kafra or Nasra.

I read the supplication you offered just now during Marghrib, and will do so for every salat I managed to do (sorry, the word is still “managed”).

    wassalam.
